Ghana Catholic Community - Washington Metropolitan Area

Welcome to the Ghana Catholic Community

Rev. Fr. Augustine Owusu-SekyereWelcome to the Ghana Catholic Community of the Washington Metro area. This is a vibrant community of Ghanaian Catholics who celebrate mass every Sunday in the Akan language, led by our pastor Rev. Fr. Augustine Owusu-Sekyere from the Konongo-Mampong Diocese in Ghana.

Our church community is part of the St. Anthony of Padua Parish, a Roman Catholic Church located in Falls Church, Virginia. St. Anthony is within the Diocese of Arlington, which is under the direction of Most Reverend Bishop Paul Loverde.

We invite you to join our community as we celebrate our faith and worship the Ghanaian way.

GCC Celebrates Christmas Day in Style...

GCC celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a mass dedicated to reminding us of the role of the savior in our lives and what it means for him to be born a lowly servant for our sakes. Following the Mass, the children of GCC provided a wonderful performance of music and poetry both in English and Twi. The Christian Mother's Association presented gifts and awards to deserving members of the GCC.

Awards were also presented to long serving and dedicated participants in the Childrens Liturgy.

Santa was around to present gifts to all the children. Pictures from the service can be seen here.
